What can I do if the rakhi will not arrive in time?
Very common and not a failure. Ask them to buy one locally and tie it themselves during a video call, or have a parent or cousin tie it on your behalf, which is a recognised stand-in arrangement in plenty of families. Send something that arrives the same day so the festival is still marked.
How early should I post a rakhi abroad?
Allow three to four weeks by standard international post, and at least a week within India — festival volumes slow everything down. Avoid rakhis with sweets or dry fruit attached; the food is what gets held up at customs.
Can I tie a rakhi to a cousin or a friend?
